International Family Day was established in 1993 by a decision of the UN General Assembly (A/RES/47/237) and is celebrated every year on May 15.
Family... a word that reflects so many feelings, so many situations.
Each family can have a distinct structure and be unique and great regardless of whether it consists of few or many members.
For some family is Parents with children, some others feel family with their pet, some others feel their family is their partner.
In any case, the family has a primary role in modern society.
This annual celebration reflects the importance that the international community attaches to the family as the basic unit of society.
